ArtisTree Community Arts Center present Jay Nash and & Josh Day from the The Contenders. With opening act by Dylan Keith

“Join us for a good cause-and good music-to aid in the relief efforts in Puerto Rico.

Jay Nash & Josh Day of The Contenders will perform here in the HayLoft at ArtisTree this Friday! Opened by Dylan Keith.

Ticket proceeds will help the Green Mountain Disaster Relief Team (GMDRT) purchase water pumps for Nuestra Escuela students and their community in hurricane-ravaged Puerto Rico. Dylan Keith will also perform.

Nuestra Escuela is a secondary school located in Caguas, Puerto Rico, an area devastated by Hurricane Maria last September. In 2016, Woodstock Union High School students visited classes at Nuestra Escuela, where they exchanged cultural information, and made new friends. The students worked together to participate in activities that ranged from getting to know the community, their botanical gardens, and eating meals together.

Nuestra Escela will utilize the funds to buy gravity-fed water pumps, providing clean water for use at the school and in the community at large.

“Nuestra Escuela is a school that serves many students with educational and economic challenges”’ says Keri Bristow, WUHS teacher and GMDRT team member. “It is also a focal point for the community with outreach to families in need. We remain in contact with students and staff despite spotty electricity for communication and every day life. The concert is an opportunity for us to continue our support of the Nuestra Escuela community.”

Vermont locals Jay Nash and Josh Day, performing as The Contenders, have received national acclaim with the release of their album “Laughing with the Reckless”. The American Folk duo share a slate of lyrical tales that come from the perspective of a traveler’s eye, and open to the wonder of the people around them.

Dylan Keith, a Pomfret native and snowboard instructor at Suicide Six, is a singer-songwriter and plays acoustic 12-string guitar. He is primarily known for his poetic soft rock original tunes, and his classic rock covers.”
